H’ART Museum Celebrates Amsterdam’s 750th Anniversary with a New Exhibition

In honor of Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, H’ART Museum presents a special exhibition featuring 75 diverse artists who have profoundly influenced—and continue to shape—the city’s character and identity.

Adopting an unconventional approach, the museum opts for a free and open format rather than a traditional art-historical or chronological arrangement. The exhibition highlights 75 renowned artists, each contributing in their own unique way to the artistic image of Amsterdam over the years.

Notable works include those of Aat Veldhoen (1934–2018), who lived and worked in Amsterdam his entire life, enriching the city’s artistic legacy through his extensive oeuvre.

With this collection, the museum pays tribute to the city, its residents, its vibrant neighborhoods, and the creators—past and present—who have lived, worked, or found inspiration within its boundaries.
